# L\&A Testing Checklist

#### VxScan

* [ ] set up VxScan (with or without ballot box)
* [ ] insert Election Manager Card
* [ ] insert a formatted USB drive
* [ ] select *`Official Ballot Mode`*
* [ ] select System Settings from the side menu and verify the date and time by selecting *`Set Date and Time`*
* [ ] remove the Election Manager Card 
* [ ] insert Poll Worker Card
* [ ] select *`Yes, Open the Polls`*
* [ ] insert a piece of thermal paper into the back of the printer
* [ ] one copy of the Polls Opened Report will print (this is your Zero Report)
* [ ] verify precinct name, election date, and totals are zero
* [ ] print additional reports as required
* [ ] remove the Poll Worker Card
* [ ] run test ballots through the scanner as required
* [ ] insert Poll Worker Card
* [ ] select *`Yes, Close the Polls`*
* [ ] insert a piece of thermal paper into the back of the printer
* [ ] one copy of the Polls Closed Report will print
* [ ] verify results match expected test ballot results
* [ ] print additional reports as required
* [ ] remove Poll Worker Card
* [ ] insert Election Manager Card
* [ ] select CVRs and Logs from side menu
* [ ] select  *`Save Log File`*
* [ ] select Configuration from side menu
* [ ] select *`Test Ballot Mode`*
* [ ] select *`Official Ballot Mode`*
* [ ] verify Ballots Scanned count is 0
* [ ] remove Election Manager Card
* [ ] remove the USB drive from the interior panel and secure 
* [ ] insert a new formatted USB drive
* [ ] unplug the power cord from VxScan and the outlet
* [ ] insert the power cord into its storage location
* [ ] clean the scanning unit
* [ ] close, seal, and document the VxScan case as required

#### VxAdmin

* [ ] set up VxAdmin
* [ ] insert Election Manager Card
* [ ] select Tally from the side menu and verify there are no CVRs 
* [ ] select Reports from the side menu, print a *`Full Election Tally Report`* as the Zero Report
* [ ] print additional reports as required
* [ ] select Tally from the side menu, load CVRs from USB drive(s)
* [ ] select Write-Ins from the side menu, adjudicate write-ins 
* [ ] select Tally from the side menu, add Manual Tallies  (when applicable)
* [ ] select Reports from the side menu, print a *`Full Election Tally Report`* as the Results Report
* [ ] select Reports from the side menu, print a  *`Unofficial Write-In Adjudication Report`* 
* [ ] verify results match expected test ballot results
* [ ] select Reports from the side menu, export a *`Full Election Tally Report`* as a .pdf and .csv
* [ ] select Reports from the side menu, export a *`Write-In Adjudication Report`*as a .pdf
* [ ] select Settings from the side menu
* [ ] select *`Save Log File`*
* [ ] select Tally from the side menu
* [ ] select *`Remove CVRs`*
* [ ] select *`Remove Manual Tallies`*
* [ ] alternatively, if you marked results as official, select *`Clear All Results`* and confirm by selecting *`Remove All Data`*
* [ ] verify there are no CVRs on VxAdmin
* [ ] power down the VxAdmin
* [ ] remove and secure the USB drive as required
* [ ] pack up VxAdmin
* [ ] close, seal, and document the VxAdmin case as required
